BioVoice’s current challenge cycle ended today. We celebrated the results during a hybrid Match Event!

Results 2021
11 innovation contracts have been concluded between large companies and participating SMEs/start-ups. These aren’t just 1-on-1 collaborations; in two challenges a cooperation was established between a large company and 2 and 3 companies respectively. For the participants, the innovation contract means access to financing through vouchers, among other things. They will spend their vouchers at knowledge and application centers in the Southwest Netherlands region as much as possible, which demonstrates the regional impact their project will have. We awarded a total of €96,250 in innovation vouchers. This amount has been made available by the Region Deal Central and West Brabant, the province of North Brabant, Rabobank and the province of Zeeland.

The new partners are now entering the pilot phase together. This involves a total budget of more than € 600,000.

But not only that
In addition to the innovation contracts, this cycle also produced a large number of alternative forms of cooperation. 12 participants who did not come to an innovation contract, will now or in the future collaborate with regional initiatives and companies. For example, a company from West Brabant is going to look with one of the challengers to see whether their existing solution can make the process more sustainable and optimised.

Innovation knowledge from far and near
5 Participating companies this time had a foreign background; from Spain, Denmark, Czech Republic, Germany and Belgium. They bring valuable new insights and networks from beyond our national borders. At the same time, two challengers found their potential solution almost around the corner: for example, Dow, based in Vlissingen, entered into a partnership with 2 other Zeeland companies.

All in all, BioVoice’s mission has once again been amply accomplished: to accelerate and value new knowledge and/or technology. For a stronger biobased and circular economy in the region.
